Fred Cabanas Aerobatic Act
![]() ![]() Fred started flying at the age of 16 and has over 20,000 hours of total flight time. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot, Multi-Engine, Instrument, Commercial, and Seaplane rating. Fred is also rated in the North American T-28 , North American P-51 Mustang, Hawker Sea Fury. At the Reno air races in September 2005 Fred won the Silver on Saturday and was advanced to the Gold on Sunday to take 8th place overall making Reno History and was selected Rookie of the year. He will be performing in the P-51 and the Pitts Special S2-C for the 2007 Mc Donald’s Air & Sea show. Fred earned his Air Frame and Power Plant License form Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach and is an Aerobatic Competency Evaluator for ICAS. The Mayor of Key West proclaimed Fred the General of the Conch republic Air Force in 1992 after he sighted and reported a defecting MIG flying in US airspace. Fred performs air shows internationally in the PITTS SPECIAL S-2C and North American P-51 Mustang. The Mustang weighs in at 8,300 lbs and has a top speed of 505 mph. The maneuvers will include a vertical roll, Loops, Cuban 8s and point rolls and high speed passes. Fred is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He has been featured in numerous movies and TV programs including MTV’s Road Rules. Fred and Susan, his wife of 30 years, have two children – Kelly and Raymond. Kelly, 27, is a LT in the US Navy and received her wings of gold on January 23rd, 2004 and is flying the S-3 Viking. Raymond, 19, is a private pilot and, like his father and sister, is planning a career in Aviation and is currently attending Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, FL.
